Day 20: Jenny Lake Loop...aka How Many Angles Can One Photograph The GRAND!

So to explain, The Tetons are the range of mountains here and The GRAND TETON is one very impressive peak. Much like 'Jackson Hole' is actually an area, a valley actually and in Jackson Hole, the area/valley is Jackson the town, some other less famous towns and the ski area Jackson Hole. But, I digress.

We hiked around Jenny Lake today. It is about a 9 mile hike according to the books, but Rick's GPS had us at over 10 and mine was 8.5, so we are going to go with Rick's!  :).  Again, the views are amazing. The Tetons (including The GRAND) are most always in view on this hike and the view from Inspiration Point above Jenny Lake is also gorgeous.

We saw our first moose at, yep, Moose Lake. It was a treat! What a beast! Rick recently read that moose can dive 20 ft to forage plant life from the bottom of ponds. Who knew!

Rick hiked the Teton Crest Trail over 15 years ago. (Many days of hiking and camping at elevation) He said it was fun to revisit the memories and he is glad he is not doing it again this trip! So enjoy the views with us.

The many angles of The GRAND!

The Grand is the tall pointy peak on the left and Mt. Moran is the stocky flat-top on the right!

And the Moose!  We want to try to get closer next time to get a clearer shot!

That's it for now!  So beautiful!
