Day 5: Hiking The Highline Trail

What a day!  The Highline Trail at Glacier is one of the most popular and most stunning in Glacier National Park! (Linda Springer, we are in GLACIER NATIONAL PARK 😊)

It also can be a little anxiety-producing for those of us who are afraid of slipping to their deaths with one wrong move! In fact, at a point where the falloff is quite literally death-inducing, Glacier has installed a safety cable!

We went again with Glacier Guides and had two new guides; Cam and JD. Again, both were knowledgeable and very interesting. We learned about geology, flora, fauna, and tried not to slip and fall to our deaths! This is JD. He was very enthusiastic!  :).

We saw lots of wild flowers,a mountain goat and some precambrian fossils!

The day started off rainy (who knew?) and luckily Rick and I always hike with our rain gear! We were much better off than some on our trip who obviously didn't read the instructions from Glacier Guides, who didn't even have ANYTHING extra to wear. (Note: Rick and I are perfect students and do everything we are told!)

We started at Logan Pass and headed west on the trail. The Covid protocol is to wear a mask and when you pass someone on the trail, to put it in place. We were 100% compliant (see NOTE above!). Thank you Pricilla Schacht for your sister's handiwork!  Best ever mask for hiking!!!

Then the sun came out and the rest is history!  Beautiful sights everywhere we looked!

                                                                   Awesome all around!!!
