Day 2: Garfield MN to Wibaux, MT (Total Mileage: 482)
We drove, drove and drove.... all across the states of MN and ND. For awhile the only excitement we had was the hordes of butterflies/moths that hit our windshield. Turns out they hit our grill too.
Then we got close to Fargo, ND. That brought back memories for me. My best friend in college (Susie Herbst Roos) grew up in Fargo and her parents (Bob and Edie Herbst) are like my second parents.❤️ I spent quality time with them at the Herbst Department Store (got clothes AT COST...thanks Bob!) and The Granary (a great restaurant that I also need to thank Bob for providing!), so driving by Detroit Lakes (where they had a cabin and shared that with me!) and Moorehead (where the drinking age was lower than it was is ND but was only a few miles from Fargo...enough said) and then Fargo, was a great reminder for me of the special quality people in my life!
But then, we hit the plains of North Dakota and although beautiful (see below) it was monotonous.
And THEN, all of a sudden, the topography changed. We entered Teddy Rosevelt National Park. Stunning! The pictures say it all. We used the new selfie stick that Rick's daughter, Kristin Glad , so rightly gave him for his recent bday and managed not to fall off any cliffs using it! (I know, OK Boomer)!
We arrived in Wibaux Montana in time to make a real dinner and toast the day with some of the Reserve Selected Barrels of Crown Royal provided by Gail and Jeff! NOTE: We are NOT TELLING any of our trailer park neighbors that we have it!!!
Tomorrow, West Glacier and our adventure begins in earnest! Thanks for reading! Jeanne (and Rick)
PS. We are now in the Mountain Time Zone!

It looks beautiful!
