Day 11: Rest Day Around Apgar Village

 Ahhh, Rest!

We slept in, had a great big breakfast, strolled around Apgar Village and easy, but beautiful nature walks, sipped wine out back of our little cabin and recharged.

A fun story: Rick and I have been thinking about getting a dog for about a year. We have been approved by a rescue organization and have looked at those dogs. We just thought now was not a good time. So today, as we were walking around we came across a young couple who had a year-old golden retriever and   an 11-week old chocolate lab puppy. It was 'the best looking lab' Rick had ever seen!  Note: We are both partial to labs, having both owned them. So we stopped to chat. It turns out the mother of Justin was the breeder and 'Thunder' was from the first ever litter. We fell in love. Justin gave us his mother's name and contact info and long story short, we are on the top of the list for the winter litter, if it takes! We plan to name her 'Sperry' after our 3-day pack-in adventure!  Stay tuned!!!

Tomorrow we drive to Yellowstone!

A special thanks to Gail and Jeff Stitgen for among many other goodies, provisioned us with a wonderful bottle of Stag's Leap Chardonnay!
